Welcome to Art Through My Lens — a space where my love of photography, art, travel and creativity come together.

I have always been fascinated by the way we see the world. As a photographer, I naturally look for moments of light, colour, texture, architecture and everyday life that tell a story. Now, as I begin my journey as an Art & Design teacher, I am discovering even more ways to look at the world creatively — and to share that way of seeing with others.

This blog began with a very special journey.

During the summer, I spent 30 days travelling through Europe, visiting 17 cities across five countries — Prague, Vienna, Verona, Bologna, Rome, Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Siena, Viareggio, Genoa, Avignon, Montpellier, Nîmes, Barcelona and Madrid — before finishing my journey in Lisbon, my birthplace.

Thirty days gave me the chance to experience an incredible variety of places, from historic streets and grand architecture to quiet corners, local life, museums, landscapes and unforgettable moments. Of course, I took my camera with me.

For me, photography is not simply about recording where I have been. It is about looking, noticing and interpreting. A building can become a composition. A street can become a story. A shadow can change the feeling of an image. A colour can bring back a memory years later.

That is what I hope to share here.

Through this blog, I will take you with me on my travels through photographs, stories and personal reflections. I will share the places I visited, the images I captured, the art and architecture that inspired me, and the small moments that made each destination memorable.

As an Art & Design teacher, I also hope this journey will influence the way I approach creativity in the classroom. Travel has reminded me that inspiration is everywhere — in history, culture, people, buildings, nature and the everyday world around us.

Art Through My Lens is therefore more than a travel blog. It is a visual record of my journey as a photographer, traveller and teacher — and an invitation to see ordinary and extraordinary places from a creative perspective.
